I am a low HW rider, looking for a horse to complete your TQ on. Have
done 3 successful Quilty's, 2 on other peoples horses. Can give names

If you would like I am happy to fly down and do an 80 beforehand, so you
can see how I ride. I won't be any bother at the TQ; will be totally
self sufficient.
Please email me on

- Gill Brame will be in attendance at the State Champs
offering EMRT (Equine Muscle Release Therapy) and also Bowen Therapy for
riders (and non-riders!).
I am a fully qualified and registered practitioner for both horse and
human. These therapies are very gentle and non-invasive and are allowed
by the FEI and EFA on the day of the event.
EMRT is the original Bowen for horse and is a series of gentle rolling
movements over key points of the horses body. It works via the Central
Nervous System to bring the body into a state of balance. EMRT was the
therapy used by the gold medal winning Australian Endurance Team at the
World Cup in France 2000.
During a ride (between legs) I can perform a "bandaid treatment" on your
horse or yourself (takes five minutes).
The bandaids for horses get the gut moving, calms the stressed/nervous
horse, releases tight muscles, pinched nerves, lactic acid build-up,
cold back, stiffness on one rein, short stepping etc. it makes the horse
supple/flexible...
For the riders if you have sore ankles, knees, shoulders, stiff back,
neck etc. a bandaid treatment will help get you through the ride. I can
do this whilst you are sitting on a bale of hay, bucket, chair, very
quick but effective! I will have my gazebo set up with massage table
also, a full treatment takes about 40 minutes. If you have bandaids on
your horse during the ride a full treatment is recommended when the ride
is finished. Treat your self and your horse after the ride. Horses need
half an hour after full treatment before floating.
The bandaid treatments are only $10, can be done after each leg if
desired.
The full treatments are $40 (normally $65).
EMRT does not replace veterinarian treatment; I work in conjuction with
Vets.
Feel free to come and have a chat if you would like to find out more
about what EMRT can do for your horse, or Bowen for yourself, or to book
a treatment. My phone number is 0427907779.

- Safety and Helmets
Any endurance event competitor, regardless of ride length, found riding
without a correctly fitted Australian standard helmet, will be
eliminated from the competition and subject to immediate disciplinary
action. This means that the helmet worn must meet current safety
standards, be fitted correctly and securely and has the strap done up
while riding at all times.
The current standards accepted by AERA are those which have been set by
Standards Australia after extensive research and industry consultation
and those standards which are accepted in the USA and Europe. Details of
these are: AS/NZS 3838 Current Australian and NZ standard.
The wearing of protective headgear has been shown to have a major
influence on the reduction of horse related injuries. Helmets should be
replaced after any moderate to severe blows or after the recommended
replacement time specified in the information provided with the helmet.
- Also a reminder to all members that if you are planning on entering
a ride which starts before dawn, you need to carry your own torch or
head torch!

changes to ensure that the National Calendar is up to date for
insurance purposes.

- MISUSE OF PUBLIC FORUMS
TEERA SMC has noted, over the past year, the increased misuse of public
forums such as Facebook, where some riders make comments that bring the
sport of endurance into disrepute. Comments and complaints that bring
the sport into disrepute that are displayed in public forums such as
Facebook will not be tolerated.
Members are respectfully reminded of Code of Conduct Rules M1, M2 and M3
in the AERA rulebook. If members wish to appeal a decision over
placings, it is to be put in writing and given to the Chief Steward at
the event on the day prior to presentations.
- AN ODE TO OUR TIMEKEEPERS
God bless all of our absolutely fabulous
timekeepers
Without them the sport of endurance would be up the creek - jeepers!
They give us the time to vet and the time to go out the start gate
Lucky for us they had practice avoiding their kids getting to school
late
They are kind and supportive, and hand logbooks over with smiles
That helps horse and riders keep going over miles and miles
They are rather special, our time keeping ladies and our timekeeping men
We show our appreciation and thank every single one of them
Riders would be stuffed, if not for super timekeeping people, for sure
So let’s be nice and try not to finish a leg like Hells Angels on world
tour!
