Tom Quilty Buckle Horse Plaque

With the introduction of a new Australian designed and made Tom Quilty Buckle in 2018, the AERA launched a Tom Quilty Buckle Plaque for horses. These plaques are available for purchase and will initially use the last of the U.S. made buckles.

The AERA would like to recognise the horse’s achievement and allow those horse owners or breeders, with an involvement or connection in the accomplishment of a TQ completion, a chance to own an enduring keepsake from the event.

Any horse that has successfully completed a Tom Quilty, in any year, is eligible for a plaque. These buckles cannot be worn and are a tribute to the horse that completed the ride.

The buckle is set into a piece of Sydney Blue Gum with a felt backing and a wall hanging hook. The plaque is adorned with the Golden Wattle, Australia’s floral emblem. It is engraved with the horse’s name, the TQ it completed and, the inscription can be customized a little if wanted, to add a personal touch.

Numbers of the old buckles are strictly limited and shall be sold on a first in first served basis. Some division placing buckles are also available.

To apply for a plaque, download the application form below, and submit to Deb Edwards via Email.
